Company Introduction
Smart E&C Co., Ltd., founded in 2017 in the Republic of Korea, is a disaster-safety technology company specializing in IoT- and AI-based monitoring and early warning solutions for landslides, debris flows, rockfalls, and reservoir overtopping.
The company integrates high-sensitivity sensors, low-power wireless communication, real-time data analysis, remote monitoring, and automated alerts into field-ready systems for public agencies, infrastructure operators, and disaster-prone communities.
Its flagship Smart Early Warning System detects underground slope displacement with a resolution of up to 0.01 mm and provides staged alerts based on real-time ground movement patterns. Smart Terra Sense combines a permeable elastic protection net with smart tension sensors to mitigate and monitor debris-flow and rockfall impacts. Smart Overflow Guard integrates protected overflow guidance, multi-sensor monitoring, and AI-based risk analysis to reduce erosion and embankment failure risks at aging reservoirs.
Since its establishment, Smart E&C has expanded from domestic R&D and field deployment to overseas demonstration and international collaboration, building a portfolio of 22 patents—including three international patents—and two design registrations, while completing 162 field deployments, including one overseas installation. Its technological excellence has been recognized through national disaster-safety certifications, NEP and NET certifications, public procurement designations, CES Innovation Awards, and a successful demonstration project in Türkiye.
As a UNGM-registered supplier, Smart E&C provides integrated services covering site assessment, system design, equipment supply, installation, operator training, remote monitoring, and maintenance. Through these capabilities, the company aims to support UN agencies and partner countries in building safer, more resilient, and climate-adaptive communities.

Product Description
1. Smart Early Warning System
The Smart Early Warning System is an IoT- and AI-based slope monitoring solution designed to detect early signs of slope instability and issue automatic alerts in real time. The system measures underground displacement near the potential failure plane, transmits data wirelessly, and analyzes risk through an AI-based algorithm. It supports faster decision-making for disaster prevention, road safety, and infrastructure protection.
Accurate Monitoring
Detects underground displacement with a resolution of up to 0.01 mm, enabling precise monitoring of slope behavior near the failure plane.
Fast Alerting
Analyzes displacement patterns and risk conditions in real time, then automatically sends alerts to managers when preset thresholds are exceeded.
Easy Installation
Can be installed with compact equipment and a small crew, reducing construction time, labor requirements, and overall installation costs.
Scalable Operation
Uses solar power and low-power IoT communication, allowing reliable operation in remote areas and easy integration with other monitoring systems.
The Smart Early Warning System is designed for cut slopes, natural slopes, reservoir slopes, and other high-risk areas. By combining sensing, wireless communication, AI analysis, and automatic alerting in one platform, it helps authorities respond earlier and reduce disaster risks more effectively.
2. Smart Terra Sense
Smart Terra Sense is an AI-based debris-flow monitoring and protection system designed to reduce damage in mountainous and disaster-prone areas. The system combines a permeable elastic net structure with smart tension sensors to detect dynamic impact loads in real time. When abnormal loads are detected, alerts are automatically transmitted to support rapid field response and infrastructure protection.
Impact Protection
The high-elongation elastic net absorbs and disperses debris-flow impact, helping protect downstream communities and critical infrastructure.
Real-Time Monitoring
Embedded smart tension sensors continuously measure dynamic loads and automatically send alerts when predefined thresholds are exceeded.
Flexible Installation
Two types of permeable net structures allow installation in upper- and mid-mountain channels, difficult-to-access valleys, and on top of existing check dams.
Easy Maintenance
Its modular structure supports partial replacement and easy debris removal, improving long-term maintainability and reducing maintenance burden.
Smart Terra Sense provides both physical protection and intelligent monitoring in one integrated system. By combining impact reduction, IoT-based sensing, and real-time alerting, it offers a practical solution for debris-flow risk management in mountainous environments.
